By separating carbon dioxide directly in the gas upgrading process, BGA Genthin can create new revenue opportunities while also improving the plant\u2019s overall efficiency. The facility in Genthin is a pilot project demonstrating how smart technology can contribute to both increased profitability and reduced energy consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2024, the CO\u2082 Harvester was installed on top of the existing D-column in Genthin. Thanks to smart design and minimal impact on existing systems, the installation was carried out without major reconstructions or disruptions to regular biomethane production. The result was a harvest of over 50% of the available CO\u2082 flow, with a purity of 97%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The retrofit also led to an energy saving of 7\u201310%.
