The heat you need in February was already here in July. We make sure it doesn’t go to waste. With energy storage, we capture excess heat from summer and cooling from winter, storing it in the ground, in water or in tanks and making it available when demand peaks.
With the right storage solution, you can store heat, cooling or electricity when supply is high and use it when it matters most. That means lower energy costs, fewer power peaks and a more stable and reliable energy supply all year round.
We tailor each storage system to your geology, energy demand and existing setup. Whether you’re looking at seasonal storage or daily balancing, we’re with you from analysis and design to commissioning and service.
Borehole storage
In summer, we store excess heat in the bedrock for use in winter. In winter, we do the opposite, storing cooling that can be used for comfort cooling in summer. A reliable and proven way to store energy seasonally, backed by decades of experience in both drilling and energy systems.
Aquifer storage
With groundwater storage, we can store both heat and cooling over the seasons. Summer heat is stored in the aquifer and recovered during winter, while winter cold is stored for use in warmer months. A high-capacity solution with fast energy transfer, especially effective in areas with the right geology. We drill, build and adapt each system to local conditions.
More smart ways to store energy
Accumulator tanks
Ideal for balancing daily energy flows. A buffer that stores heat or cooling and helps match production to demand.
Sand storage
Sand acts as a natural, dry heat reservoir. A stable solution for long-term thermal storage, ready to use when needed.
Battery systems
Stores electricity, reduces power peaks and adds backup security during outages. Gives you greater control over energy use — even when the grid is under pressure.
