A flexible upgrading solution for smaller gas flows
Do you have a biogas flow of up to 500 Nm³ per hour?
Malmberg’s membrane solution is designed to be efficient and easy to integrate, especially for smaller plants looking to move into biomethane production. The system has a small footprint, low energy consumption, and delivers a product gas with over 99.8 percent methane.
What is membrane biogas upgrading?
Methane is separated from carbon dioxide through a multi-stage process where the gas passes through specially developed membranes. This technology requires no water or chemicals. The result is clean, usable biomethane – ready for the gas grid or as vehicle fuel.
Membranes are a smart option if you
- Have a flow between 100 and 500 Nm³ per hour
- Want a compact solution with low operating costs
- Prefer to avoid water, heat and chemicals
- Are working with limited space or complex conditions
From agricultural waste to biomethane in Northern Italy
In St. Lorenzen, Northern Italy, a biogas cooperative with 80 farmers chose Malmberg’s GRM50 unit to shift from electricity generation to clean biomethane. Each year, gas from more than 60,000 cubic metres of agricultural waste is upgraded to green energy for homes and businesses.
Malmberg’s membrane solution?
High methane recovery (≥ 99.8 percent)
Low methane slip (≤ 0.2 percent)
Approx. 0.26 kWh/Nm³ in energy use
Temperature-resistant membranes
Long lifetime and low sensitivity to impurities
