Malmberg signs contract for new upgrading plant in Germany

Malmberg has signed a contract with AEV Energy GmbH for the delivery of a membrane plant for biogas upgrading in Wallstawe, Germany. The plant will be delivered as a container-based unit with a capacity of up to 250 Nm³/h of raw gas.

The plant is based on a highly efficient and oil-free membrane concept combined with Malmberg’s almost 30 years of experience in biogas upgrading. This limits methane loss to a maximum of 0.2 percent, meaning the requirements according to the Gasnetzzugangsverordnung are met without the need of an RTO. Due to the low-pressure-concept, the energy consumption is kept at the lowest possible level.

Membranes are an established technology. What we have done is get more out of it, both in terms of efficiency and energy consumption

– Erik Malmberg, Owner & Bussines developer

The solution is based on a standardized concept adapted for the German market, with clear interfaces and a short installation time. The plant meets the requirements for grid injection according to DVGW G 260 and G 262, as well as the applicable emission limits under TA Luft.

It is about delivering a plant that operates reliably over time and meets the requirements without additional supporting systems

– Donato Cristaldi, Managing Director in Germany.
